Planning Aid for Scotland has achieved Investing in Volunteers status. The standard enables us to review our volunteer management and demonstrates our commitment to volunteering.
Volunteers are the foundation of Planning Aid for Scotland (PAS) and are at the centre of all our work. We run regular volunteer induction evenings to make you feel welcome. We value and invest in our volunteers and provide opportunities, such as free training, for your Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Most volunteers are members of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) and they are based in all parts of Scotland. It's helpful if you can commit to a certain amount of time but we make sure that being a volunteer is flexible and we respect your decision to take time off, or to finish volunteering, if circumstances change.
If you are a planning professional volunteer you can:
There are three main routes: the advice service, training or mentoring. If you are a fully qualified planner, with MRTPI, you can do any of these, even with just an hour to spare. If you are a student, Licentiate or Associate member of the RTPI you can get involved in training in the community. There are sometimes opportunities working on PAS research projects or with other areas of our work. We can post volunteer recruitment leaflets to you to distribute to colleagues and friends, let us know how many you need. Email Robert with any questions, call him on 0131 220 9737 or simply fill out the form below. Enjoy your volunteering!
Please download the application form and return it to our office. We look forward to you becoming a valued member of our team.
