What is advice service volunteering?

Our experienced volunteers respond to a diverse range of enquiries from members of the public or community groups. Only if you are a fully qualified planner, with MRTPI, can you volunteer for the advice service.

Enquiries are received in the Planning Aid for Scotland office and are referred by the advice service Co-ordinator directly to you. An enquiry can often be dealt with in a phone call or further information or research may be required.

From analysis of enquiries we know that the average case takes about 30 minutes to deal with, usually involving an initial phone call to the client, some desk research and then a further phone call.
