New Development Plan:

Under the 2006 planning reforms, Local Authorities are required to produce a new kind of Development Plan. The Highland Council have agreed with Scottish Ministers that one Local Development Plan (LDP) for the whole area would be inadequate. Thus, a Highland-Wide LDP will replace the structure plan and 3 area LDPs will be prepared. These area LDPs will cover Caithness and Sutherland, Inner Moray Firth, as well as West Highlands and Islands.
